The Electric Car – Nissan Leaf will Cost more by £10,000
The world’s first mass-market electric car the Nissan Leaf is at present going to be costlier by around £10,000 more than its corresponding petrol and diesel variants.
This car will now cost a hacking £28,350 which is in excess of any of its nearly same graded car. For instance Toyota’s Prius electric-petrol hybrid costs £19,500-22,500, Ford Focus cost less than £19,000. This when equated to other is purportedly costlier, say the industry viewers.
President of the AA, Edmund King, alternatively to this states that “the Nissan Leaf will change the odd image of electric cars which generally is daunted by safety features and messy recharging points. The leaf on the other hand breaks the trend of normal looking cars which may look expensive but serves as a value for money product.”
The VP further summed up that “Leaf would costs close to 0.3p per mile depending on electricity tariff which means that if one drives 10,000 miles he can easily save around £1,500 a year. This indirectly points that one can have their money back on premium, a value for money car, according to the company official.”
